Hello
Hello, my name is Rachel and I’m the founder of Trusted Home Help. With a passion for supporting older adults to live independently and confidently, I started this service to provide reliable, caring support for everyday needs across Liverpool and Merseyside.
My Story
My passion for supporting older adults began in my teens, helping members of our church community with simple but meaningful things - preparing a meal, tidying up, or just sitting together over a good cuppa and a chat. I’ve always loved listening to the 'oldies' of this world and hearing about their stories, wisdom, and experiences. To me, those moments of connection are priceless.
In 2017, after being made redundant, I began volunteering with Age UK’s befriending service in Maidstone, Kent. The service’s belief that no one should be alone really resonated with me. I spent the next few years visiting two wonderful ladies regularly. One lady, originally from Liverpool, lived with dementia and loved nothing more than an afternoon tea or takeaway fish 'n' chips. Whereas another lovely lady was a tech-savvy family historian who needed help with her laptop, printer, and the odd online hiccup. Both became friends, and I realised how much joy those visits brought into my life too. One of them once said, “You need this more than me.” She was right.
More recently, I left a corporate career in marketing and returned to Liverpool to be closer to my dad during his treatment and recovery. That experience only deepened my understanding of how important support and companionship are for older adults and their families.
Trusted Home Help was born from these experiences - a heartfelt desire to combine practical assistance with genuine companionship. My mission is simple: to help older adults live their best, most independent lives, while giving families peace of mind that their loved ones are cared for with kindness, respect, and trust.
